Whether you have always had an affinity for classic cars, or you are simply curious about how the art and science of automobile design and manufacturing have transformed since the early-to-mid 20th century, you will want to visit the Sharjah Classic Car Museum.
Launched with the purpose not only to preserve and display some of the most beautiful classic cars manufactured between 1917 and 1960 but also to create an educational and historical resource for visitors of all ages.
The Sharjah Classic Car Museum has been a famous “must see” destination for tourists, residents, and students since it first opened in 2008.
An Impressive Collection
The Sharjah Classic Car Museum has a well-rounded and engaging collection of vehicles from around the world.
From the famous Armstrong Siddeley motor cars built between 1919 and 1960 in England, the prestigious Delaunay-Belleville manufactured just north of Paris, to the luxurious Rolls-Royce Triumph TR3, and the Sporty MGA.
While many of the young visitors to the museum will dream of designing cars when they grow up, elderly guests have fond memories from when they owned and enjoyed driving one of the models before it became a classic.
All the vehicles on display in the museum are carefully preserved and meticulously maintained as an item to be admired, appreciated and as a source of inspiration.
Gems From a Bygone Era
Many classic and vintage cars are not only rare and extremely expensive today, but also were pretty pricey and limited in production when they were first manufactured.
Although modern vehicles have technology that is more advanced, the classic cars embody the very best of design and engineering of their time.
Sharjah Classic Car Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into and a learning experience of how automobile technology has advanced over the years.
Fond Memories of Famous Cars and Famous People
A stroll through the museum makes you feel transported back to the glamorous days of old Hollywood, the days of James Cagney, Jean Harlow, Clark Gable and later James Dean.
Every classic car tells a story. It is an unforgettable experience. You cannot possibly visit UAE and miss out on a visit to the museum.
Family Fun Time
If you are a family man with young boys, a visit to the Sharjah Classic Car Museum will be a great outing for your budding young car enthusiasts.
A visit to the museum with your children comfortably combines learning with fun.
Children can learn about the history of the cars and acquire some rudimentary knowledge about the parts of the engines and how they functioned as opposed to modern vehicles.
Easy to Find and Get To
Located right next to the Sharjah International Airport in what was the former airport building, many visitors purposefully set aside extra time on their way in or out of Sharjah to stop-by.
Operating Hours Are Convenient
Open seven days a week, you can visit the Museum from 8 AM to 8 PM Saturdays through Thursdays, and from 4 PM until 8 PM on Fridays.
